Toki: Present and Future: A Day of Listening

On December 13, 2022, Friends of Toki (FOT) hosted a Day of Listening in Miami, Florida. The full day conference provided an in depth update and review of Toki's health and welfare since FOT's involvement beginning in March of 2022. Attendees included Indigenous Peoples, Toki Advocates, Animal Welfare Experts, Veterinarians, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, members from the Dolphin Company, members from Friends of Toki, and media personnel. The Day of Listening was live streamed to YouTube and was attended virtually by over 230 people. A detailed report was provided to those in attendance and is posted here.

Friends of Toki and The Dolphin Company are collaborating in unprecedented ways to provide  Tokitae, the whale also known as Lolita, with the highest quality of life possible. The collaborative nature of this undertaking for the benefit of a single captive killer whale is truly meaningful.

Toki did not choose to be where she is. She cannot make her own decisions on her future. She is dependent upon us and we must all do everything we can for her health and welfare.

This is the Commitment that Friends of Toki has made.
